Two students from Nemom school drown in Vellayani lake

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a terrible incident, two students drowned in Vellayani Lake in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday. The deceased have been identified as Muhammad Ihsan (15) and Muhammad Bilal (15), both 10th standard students of Nemom Victory Higher Secondary School.

Both of them went to take a dip in the Parakot area of Vellayani Lake. The inclement weather and the unending summer rains had already buoyed the water level in the lakes, making it dangerous for leisure activities. The students were unaware of the depth and got drowned.

Both of them were rushed to a private hospital in the city but couldn’t be saved.
