PATHANAMTHITTA: District Collectors usually declare school holidays during rainy season. In the age of social media, many children often come under the posts of collectors' official Facebook pages asking if there is a holiday. In this way, a comment posted by Pathanamthitta District Collector S Prem Krishnan goes viral on social media.
Pathanamthitta District Collector S Prem Krishnan via a comment informed that there is no holiday in the district following rain and asked the children to pack their bags. The collector's comment below the Facebook post was, 'There is no holiday, its green children, do your homework and pack your bags'.
Many people came to the page of the district collector asking if there is a holiday. The collector's reply has already gone viral. Around 2000 people have liked the comment. Although the water has receded in the eastern part of Pathanamthitta, there is still waterlogging in areas including Thiruvalla.
Meantime, a holiday has been declared today in all educational institutions in Kottayam and four taluks of Alappuzha. In Alappuzha, holidays are in Kuttanad, Chengannur, Cherthala and Ambalapuzha taluks. A holiday has been given to schools functioning as relief camps in districts including Wayanad. Officials informed that there will be no change in pre-scheduled exams.
