THRISSUR: K Muraleedharan has clarified that he was made a scapegoat in Thrissur and cannot comment further. He was responding to the media about the defeat in the Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency. He said that he has no complaint about the defeat and let the inquiry commission appointed by KPCC submit its report.

"When the Congress won all the constituencies in the state, I had to face defeat. Respecting party discipline, I will not speak more on the matter. Can Thrissur Pooram be sabotaged by a commissioner? The Kerala government was behind making Pooram a mess. There have been some ulterior motives behind the sabotage of Pooram. It benefited BJP in the elections. In the constituency, irregularities including adding names to the voter list took place under the leadership of officers who are CPIM sympathizers." He also criticized that Mayor Arya Rajendran is digging a pit for the party in the capital.

'There is a firm hope that UDF will win the Palakkad by-election. BJP has an advantage only in the Palakkad Municipal Corporation but that it will not change the result of the constituency." Muralidharan had previously responded that he will campaign for Priyanka Gandhi in Wayanad constituency.
