k

THRISSUR: KPCC committee investigating K Muralidharan's defeat in the Lok Sabha elections has completed its evidence collection. A report may be issued soon. The committee consisting of KC Joseph, MLA T Siddique and R Chandrasekaran took statements twice from senior leaders, DCC office bearers and block congress presidents.

The inquiry into defeat of Ramya Haridas in Alathur will be held after two weeks. The members of the committee said that considering Muralidharan's third position, they were first tasked to investigate the defeat in Thrissur.

It is reported that senior leaders and others have given statements against TN Prathapan, Anil Akkara and Jose Vallur. A poster and a letter were circulated against them. It is alleged that they are the reason for Muralidharan's defeat. It is also alleged that some sections of the coastal area have been turned against Muralidharan in Thrissur. There are efforts to counter such accusations and prove their support. People from outside the Thrissur constituency who support them were brought to take evidence. At the same time, the Fishermen Congress came forward to stop the criticism against Prathapan. They issued a statement the other day that they will not allow Prathapan to be hunted.

Activists against Ramya

The protest of a section of activists against Ramya Haridas in Alathur has not stopped. It is alleged that she disobeyed the party and were a puppet in the hands of some people and showed strictness in unnecessary matters. Those who disagreed with Ramya did not cooperate in the campaign. It is also alleged that BJP candidate Dr T N Sarasu got one lakh votes in the Lok Sabha elections due to the rift in the Congress. Palakkad DCC President A Thankappan's statement was controversial when he openly said that the responsibility of the failure lies not with the party but with the candidate.
