Family including pregnant woman attacked for not giving way for MLA’s car to pass

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A family was attacked by the DYFI allegedly for not giving way for the car of a MLA, who came to attend a marriage reception, to pass. A complaint has been lodged against G Stephen MLA and DYFI activists. A family including a pregnant woman was attacked. The complaint filed with the police said their car was attacked and also broke the woman’s necklace.


The incident happened last night. Bineesh and his wife Neethu were beaten up. She is eight months pregnant. They were attacked when they were returning after attending a marriage reception at Kattakkada. Bineesh sustained injuries on his nose, hands and chest.


Meantime, G Stephen MLA denied the allegation. He said that he had not asked to give way for his car to pass. The MLA responded that he was in the marriage auditorium at the time of the incident and doesn’t know who attacked them.
