Flight makes emergency landing after lice spotted in woman’s hair

NEW YORK: A flight made an emergency landing after lice was spotted in a woman’s hair mid-air. The American Airline flight bound for New York from Los Angeles made an emergency landing at the Phoenix International Airport in Arizona. A passenger on the flight shared his experience on TikTok.

The flight crew did not inform the passengers about the emergency landing elsewhere. This caused confusion amongst them. They did not know what was happening. The reason for the emergency landing became clear when the plane landed and when they talked to the other passengers and crew.

After seeing lice on the woman's head, two women sitting next to her informed the flight crew. They then informed the pilot and immediately made arrangements for an emergency landing. The travel was delayed for more than 12 hours due to this. Passengers were shifted to hotels. Immediately after the plane landed, American Airlines officials handed out vouchers for hotel stays to the passengers.

The official announcement of the airline was that the flight had to be diverted due to a health emergency. The company also stated that a flight from Los Angeles to New York was diverted to Phoenix due to health issues of a passenger. The passengers were later flown to Los Angeles.
