Moderate rain and strong winds expected in Kerala, IMD warns

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: According to the Central Meteorological Department, moderate rain (5-15 mm/hour) at isolated places in Malappuram and Kozhikode districts of Kerala in the coming hours and strong winds with a speed of up to 40 kmph can be expected. There is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod and strong winds with a speed of up to 40 kmph.

The Central Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of strong winds and bad weather. Winds with a speed of 35 to 45 kmph and occasional 55 kmph over Gulf of Mannar, South Tamil Nadu coast, adjoining Kanyakumari region, Central West Arabian Sea, adjoining Central East Arabian Sea, Central Bay of Bengal, adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal, Southwest Bay of Bengal.
