KALPETTA: Ministers PA Mohammed Riyas and AK Saseendran, members of the cabinet sub-committee, said in a press conference that the process of shifting the people in the relief camps in Wayanad to their homes will start soon. Around 125 houses, including government quarters, have been found for this purpose. Works have been completed in many of these buildings. They will be handed over for accommodation once the inspection under the leadership of the District Collector is completed. The government has fixed the rent of these houses. Minister PA Mohammed Riyas said that the District Collector has been directed to intervene to provide necessary furniture and household appliances.

"The state has requested the central team, which visited the disaster-affected area of Wayanad, for a fund for immediate rehabilitation. We have demanded 2000 crore for reconstruction alone. The cleanup process must begin right away. At least 90 days will be required for this. The camps will continue to operate. Relief amount should be paid urgently to the disaster victims," Mohammed Riyas said.
