SHIRUR: Some metal parts, doubted to be of Arjun's missing truck, have been recovered from the Gangavali River on Wednesday. It is reported that the recovered parts belong to the cabin of the truck. Arjun's lorry owner Manaf expressed doubt when it came to verifying the parts but confirmed that the ropes found from the river were indeed used in his truck. Manaf said that the parts found could also be that of another truck. gone missing during the landslides.

The rescue team had also recovered one hydraulic jack used in the lorry from the river.

Diving expert Eshwar Malpe went inside the river 11 times on Wednesday but couldn’t find anything crucial. The huge soil residue in the river made it difficult for the team to conduct the search operation. Malpe responded that the five-hour long search failed to get any links to the missing truck or to its driver Arjun.

Karwar MLA Satish Sail said that the soil and trees accumulated at the bottom of the river are hindering the search operation. The MLA revealed the plans to bring a dredger from Goa to remove the soil deposits at the bottom of the river. The district administration informed that there are no positive indications in the search so far. The search operation will not take place on Thursday and will resume only on Friday.
