One dies, two injured in mudslide during road construction

KANNUR: One died in a mudslide during road construction. The dead is Peter Cheruvath of Chandanathodu. The accident happened Friday morning during the construction of Mananthavady Perya Pass in Nedumpoil. Two laborers sustained injuries. The injured are Manoj of Mattannoor and Binu of Kanichar. They have been admitted to a private hospital in Thalassery.

The accident happened while tying wires for concreting a partially collapsed road. Peter was caught between the wires and died on the spot itself.
