THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Antony Raju MLA has responded to the media after the Supreme Court rejected his appeal in the evidence tampering case.
"Law will move in its way. I'm not at all afraid. Crises like these have made me stronger. This will not cause any issues in my future public work," Antony Raju said.
"I'm ready to face the trial. I don't have any issue with that. I have not received the complete details of the judgment copy. I will respond in detail after going through the judgment copy. I am right here. I will decide on further action after receiving the judgment copy," he said.
Meanwhile, Antony Raju's lawyer Deepak Prakash said that the Supreme Court's decision is erroneous and the claim that Antony Raju had filed a request to retrieve the evidence is baseless. He said that the request was filed by the accused in the case and that there was no witness testimony or evidence in the case.
Earlier today, the Supreme Court had rejected Antony Raju's appeal challenging the High Court's order for a re-investigation in the case. The apex court stated that Antony Raju should face the trial and that the trial should be completed in a year. The bench headed by Justice CT Ravikumar said that Antony Raju should appear before the trial court on December 20.
