THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Central government approval for the start-up which developed the software of facial recognition drone camera, which is crucial for the army even in war. Technopark-based Trois Infotech has developed long-range facial recognition drone software. This camera can clearly capture the face of a person standing on the ground even when flying at a height of 500 meters. Currently, the country is buying these types of drones from Israel. It will cost more than two and a half crore rupees. Jitesh, a native of Vadakara, Kozhikode, said that 25 lakhs is enough to make it in India.
A grant of 1.15 crore was given from the Telecom Technology Development Fund of the Central Department of Communications for software development. It is the first time in the country that a start-up in this field has received a grant. Wi-Fi Halo, 4G and 5G technology are used to transmit the footage captured by the drone to Earth in real-time. The startup is currently in the early stages of camera manufacturing. They will get a grant of up to five crores if they succeed. Mentorship will be provided at every stage of camera manufacturing in addition to the grant. The central government will prepare the place and conditions for the drone test. Nandakumar, Regil and Anupam Gupta are the directors of the company. The startup began in 2018.
To be completed within one year
The agreement with the centre is that the drone will be operational within a year. The camera will be attached to the drone after the test. The total weight of the drone and camera will be less than 25 kg.
