'Don't know anything, people making up stories'; actor Sreenath Bhasi responds to cannabis case

ALAPPUZHA: Earlier on Wednesday, a woman caught with ganja told police that she had supplied the banned materials to actor Sreenath Bhasi. The news triggered a debate, and now the actor has responded. Bhasi called the whole incident rubbish and alleged people of fabricating news. The actor said he wouldn’t be responding further on this issue.

A woman arrested with ganja stated that she had supplied drugs to top film actors Shine Tom Chacko and Sreenath Bhasi. The woman identified as Tasleena Sulthana, caught with the deadly hybrid ganja in Alappuzha, gave the crucial statement to the excise that she had supplied drugs to the actors.

The Excise has also obtained digital evidence on the woman’s connections with the actors. The police investigation revealed that the woman had connections with top actors in the film industry. It is hinted that the woman had distributed hybrid ganja imported from abroad to Kochi. Tasleena Sultana of Chennai was arrested when she arrived in Alappuzha with ganja to hand over the stuff to the distributors.

Hybrid ganja worth Rs two crore was seized from them. Her children were with her when the excise arrested her. She was arrested by Alappuzha Narcotics Circle inspector Mahesh and his team. Tasleena alias Christina, brought hybrid ganja from Thailand. Hybrid ganja is more intoxicating than MDMA.

Tasleena is an accused in a previous incident where a girl was drugged and raped. It is also heard that she has links with a sex racket. She reached Alappuzha to sell the stuff in partnership with Firoz of Mannancherry.
