NAGERCOIL: Tourists have been denied permission to visit the glass bridge between Vivekananda Rock and Thiruvalluvar Statue at Triveni Sangam in Kanyakumari for five days. This is due to a joint inspection by officials of Central Public Sector Undertakings RITES and Anna University, Thoothukudi, from the 15th to the 19th, Kanyakumari District Collector Alagu Meena said.
The international tourist destination of Kanyakumari is famous for the Thiruveni Sangam, Sri Kanniyakumari Amman Temple, Gandhi Mandapam, Kamarajar Manimandapam, sunrise viewpoint, and sunset viewpoint.
Tourists from all over the country and foreign tourists alike visit in large numbers to see these and to see the new glass fiber bridge built between the Thiruvalluvar Statue and the Vivekananda Memorial Hall in the middle of the Kanyakumari sea.
The glass fiber bridge, built at a cost of Rs. 37 crore, has received a good response from tourists visiting Kanyakumari. Not only that, but the number of tourists has also increased as walking on the glass bridge provides a new kind of experience.
