Malayali killed in road accident in Qatar

KOTTAYAM: A man from Vaikom, Kerala, died in a road accident on the Dukhan Highway in Qatar. The deceased has been identified as Joy Mathew (47), son of the late Mathew of Chemmanathukara. The accident occurred around 3 a.m. yesterday. Joy Mathew had been residing in Qatar for the past 13 years and was working in the event management sector.

Joy was returning from Shahaniya as part of his work when his car crashed into the rear of a truck. His body is currently kept at the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital mortuary in the industrial area.

After completing the necessary formalities through the Al Ihsan committee under Qatar KMCC, his body will be repatriated to India today. Joy Mathew is survived by his mother Thankamma and wife Sreedevi (Associate Producer at Manorama Online).
