'They killed my husband, don’t harm my child': Woman mistakes soldiers for terrorists, pleads for mercy

SRINAGAR: Heart-wrenching news continues to pour in from Pahalgam, leaving the people of India devastated. The terrorists reportedly approached the tourists wearing clothes that resembled police and army uniforms. This led to moments of confusion, with some mistaking the actual soldiers arriving for rescue as attackers.

A video has emerged showing a group of people, including women, who escaped from the tourist spot of Baisaran meadow, encountering the soldiers who came to rescue them. Overcome with grief at the loss of their loved ones, the women and others are seen weeping uncontrollably. The video also shows security personnel trying to calm them down and offering first aid.

The sight of armed soldiers caused panic among some, who feared they might be terrorists. One woman, in tears, pleaded with folded hands, saying, “Please don’t harm my child.” In the video, the soldiers can be heard saying, “We are the Indian Army. We are here to protect you.” Her child also starts crying, calling out “Papa, Papa.”

The woman is heard saying that her husband had died. Moments later, she collapsed. Soldiers are seen helping her regain consciousness and providing water and assistance to others. It is believed that she may have witnessed her husband's death.
