LUCKNOW: A 60-year-old man reportedly died by slitting his own throat in an act of self-sacrifice on the occasion of Bakrid. According to police, he left behind a note stating that he was offering himself as a sacrifice. The incident took place in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh.

The deceased, identified as Ish Mohammed, was found dead inside his home after allegedly slitting his throat. Police recovered a handwritten note addressed to his family in which he declared his intention to sacrifice himself. Neighbours alerted police after hearing his wife's screams. Though authorities rushed him to the hospital, he could not be saved.
