NEW DELHI: There is no vacancy for the post of Prime Minister in the upcoming elections and that Narendra Modi will remain the unquestioned leader in the BJP, said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in an interview to a national media.
‘Even the world's top leaders seek Modi's advice on global issues. I have never seen any other Prime Minister who gets so many personal calls from world leaders on his birthday,’ said Rajnath Singh said. He cited the government's response to the Pahalgam terror attack as an example of Modi's style of working. Rajnath Singh also pointed that the Prime Minister had consulted the three Army Chiefs and the National Security Advisor before giving full freedom to the Army ahead of Operation Sindoor.
The Defence Minister recalled how in 2013, Modi was declared the BJP's campaign convener and later its prime ministerial candidate with the support of the parliamentary board. He said that the circumstances of the country at that time demanded Modi's leadership. ‘We travelled together often during the 2014 campaign. I used to say that Modi would get a full majority, but he was not so sure. There is no vacancy for the post of Prime Minister anywhere near. Modi will continue to be our candidate in 2029, 2034 and after that, clarified Rajnath Singh.
