THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following the CAG report against DGP Loknath Behera, more details regarding the irregularities and violations committed by the police chief are coming out. While reports say that the DGP has violated several norms by purchasing a large number of Spectrum analysers and cameras, it is learnt that The government had later validated these violations. Though the government had suggested police department to purchase the spectrum analysers from the Delhi based Agmatel India company, the DGP had opposed this move by stating that the company had renewed the rate contract and increased the rates. Following this, the purchase was made from Convergent Technologies in Bengaluru for an amount of Rs 26,10,496. Though this action by the police chief was later validated by the government, it had strictly ordered him to act in accordance with the Stores Purchase Manual. However, the DGP apparently went on violating the norms by not complying with the manual.
