Police to strictly enforce lockdown: Face charges for stepping out unnecessarily

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has declared a lockdown in the state in the wake coronavirus outbreak and the state police said it will be implemented strictly. Strong action will be taken against those who travel unnecessarily. DGP Loknath Behera said the police force has been directed to implement the lockdown without any lapse.

Starting Tuesday, the police force will be stationed in roads under the leadership of top police officials. The exemption is only for those who are connected to services declared as essential. Strict action will be taken against those roaming around without a pass, DGP said.
