THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Met department has forecast heavy rains in isolated places in Kerala. As part of precautionary measures, yellow alert has been declared in Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasargod, Malappuram and Wayanad.
Isolated places in the State will receive 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm rain.
The fishermen in Kerala and Karnataka coastal areas have been asked to keep off the sea as there are chances for 40 to 50 km/hr strong wind here.
The Disaster Management Authority asked people living on river sides , seas shores and landslide-prone areas to be extra careful as threat of strong wind and rain persist.
District Collector has announced Yellow Alert in following districts
July 2: Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragod
July 3: Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasargod
July 4: Kannur, Kasargod
July 5: Kasargod
