KOTTAYAM: Kerala Congress leader Jose K Mani has donated Rs 50,000 to the chief minister’s disaster response fund for the distribution of free vaccines. Thus the Kerala Congress leader has ensured his participation by donating the money saved for daughter’s marriage as part of the vaccine challenge.

“Due to the ongoing second wave of the pandemic, only family members are participating in the marriage,” he said. Donating the money, the Kerala Congress leader asked the party workers and the public to donate an amount that they can to the chief minister’s disaster response fund.

Asma Beevi who surpassed Covid at the age of 105, Subaida Beevi who donated an amount after selling her only goat, and many other commoners have donated generously to the chief minister’s disaster response fund. The vaccine challenge began in social media following the chief minister’s declaration that even if the vaccine is not given by the union government, the state government will buy vaccine for the people.
