NEW DELHI: In a situation where the transmission of Covid continues to be severe in the country, it has been directed to impose lockdown in districts with over 15% positivity rate. The measures were recommended by the union health ministry at the high level meet convened. The Centre has prepared the list of 150 districts.
A final decision on whether to impose lockdown will be taken in consultation with the state governments. Other sections of the centre disagree on the imposition of the lockdown. It is in this context the centre is holding talks with the states.
In Kerala, except Pathanamthitta and Kollam districts, the test positivity rate is more than 15 %. The overall positivity rate in the state is 23.24 %. More than 30,000 people were diagnosed with the disease yesterday.
