Friends killed in pickup-autorickshaw collision

ANCHAL: An autorickshaw driver and his friend were killed when a pickup van collided with an autorickshaw. The deceased have been identified as Remi Babu (37), son of Babu and Mary, and Rafeeq (35), son of Abdul Wahab and Majida Beevi.

The accident took place near Chadayamangalam Jatayu junction at around 2 pm yesterday. Though the two were soon rushed to the hospital, they later succumbed to their injuries. Both are auto drivers at the Anchal stand. Remi Babu is survived by wife Mary Seena. Rafeeq is survived by his wife Rasiya and son Azeez. The bodies which are kept at Paripally Medical College will be handed over to the relatives after the Covid test and postmortem.
