One continuing in a post will make it difficult to develop a healthy alliance within the party, SRP’s article without mentioning K K Shailaja’s name

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM politburo member S Ramachandran Pillai said the perception that a party worker is considered only when he is appointed to a parliamentary post indicates a decline in the standard of party consciousness. He made this clear in a note on party's mouthpiece, explaining the politics of considering new faces in the selection of candidates and ministerial posts.

There will be attempts to gain and secure posts. This is applicable equally to positions within the party and at the parliamentary level. That is why a validity period is fixed from branch to general secretaries. This decision helped to strengthen the unity within the party and to counter the sectarian tendencies, pointed Pillai.

Efficient comrades will get new opportunity for party-parliamentary positions. He explained without naming K K Shailaja for not considering her for the ministerial berth. If relaxations are given to those who have handled duties efficiently, then the same should be given to 26 MLAs and 11 ministers, he said.

Even some LDF supporters were involved in the media campaign that women were neglected in the formation of the cabinet. With the inclusion of three-women, the campaign became irrational. Some thought that replacing two-time MLAs would eliminate the chances of success. However, the election results showed that there was no shortage of potential candidates in the party, he said.

Pillai’s explanation was based on Chandigarh Party Congress report. The entrenched parliamentary delusion manifested through greed and careerism for elected positions is pervasive in party’s strong and weak states. It is also a source of groupism and sectarianism in the party. A person continuing in one post would be difficult to develop a healthy alliance within the party, he said.
