KASARGOD: Police has started a preliminary investigation on K Sundara’s revelation that BJP leaders have tried to influence him with money in order to withdraw his candidature from the Manjeshwaram constituency. The investigation was called upon the complaint of the left candidate in the constituency, V V Ramesh. The complaint which was submitted before the Kasargod district police chief, following Sundara’s revelation was later transferred to Badiyadduka police station.
Meanwhile, the case will be registered in the station only with a court nod. Police have already submitted a plea in Kasargod court in this regard. The case will be registered after recording the testimony of the complainant. Even after testifying to the police on receiving money from BJP, Sundara is continuing in the south Kannada district in Karnataka.
Sundara has made the crucial revelation that has shocked state politics on Saturday. He said that he had demanded Rs 15 lakh to withdraw his candidature and he had received Rs 2 lakh from the saffron party. He also added that K Surendran had also promised to set up a wine parlour for him in Karnataka if he wins from the Manjeshwaram constituency during the assembly polls.
