Woman sets herself on fire in Kollam when children went for tuition

KOLLAM: A woman died of burn injuries after she allegedly set herself on fire. She has been identified as Liji John (34), wife of Aji John of Elampal Manjamankala. The incident happened last evening. Initial reports said she set herself on fire.

She ended her life when her children went for tuition. There was no one at home at the time of the incident. When her in-laws came back from work they found her hanging.

Her post-mortem will be conducted today. The reason for the suicide is not known. Liji was a nurse at a private hospital in Punalur. Her husband is also an employee of a hospital in Kollam.
