Sacred jewels of temple in Kannur stolen

PAZHAYANGADI: Sacred jewels and valuables of Ezhome Kuruvatte Sreekurmba Bhagwati temple have been stolen. The main offering box was also stolen along with other valuables.

It is believed that the incident took place at dawn yesterday. The shrine door was found broken in by temple dwellers who arrived at the temple in the early hours of the morning. The lock of the shrine was broken with a rod. The office room was also in a broken-in condition. An iron spade and some chemicals have been found nearby. A team led by informed Pazhayangadi SHO ME Rajagopalan, Pazhayangadi SI K Shaju and SI Rajanish Madhavan and a dog squad from Kannur conducted the inspection.
