MALAPPURAM: Muslim League leader PK Kunhalikutty on Sunday said that the CPM was behind the controversy over the fund of the Chandrika daily. Kunhalikutty was responding for the first time to the controversy after Mueen Ali's press conference.

"The Muslim League is a party that has overcome several challenges. The controversy that broke out in the last few days was created by the CPM. The CPM is trying to overcome the protest against the government's anti-Muslim stance," Kunhalikutty said. He said the party would unite to oppose any attempt to isolate and attack the Muslim League.
