Thalassery POCSO case accused Sharafuddin found sexually active, action recommended against doctor for giving wrong report

KANNUR: The accused in the case of sexually abusing a minor girl in Thalassery is found to be sexually active. The doctor of General Hospital who first examined 68-year-old Sharafuddin residing at Good Shed Road in Thalassery, reported that he was not sexually active. When this led to suspicion, the prosecution demanded that a medical board be formed to examine the matter.


In an examination conducted by the five doctors of the medical team formed found him to be sexually active. A team including physician of Kannur district hospital, surgeon, psychiatrist and forensic surgeon examined him. The result of the examination was submitted at the additional district sessions court the other day. Action has been recommended against the doctor who reported that Sharafuddin faced sexual dysfunction. Two other accused in the same case are remanded. The court will consider their bail plea tomorrow. The girl was sexually assaulted in last March.

U K Sharafuddin, is a known businessman in Thalassery has been accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
