Relatives knew about the death of the patient in the intensive care unit only four days later. The death of Thankappan (55), a native of Chengannur Peringamala was informed to his relatives only four days later.

Thankappan was admitted to the hospital on August 7. Thankappan's wife and son were being treated in the ward of the same hospital. However, when they did not know anything about him, they went and enquired at the ICU and it was informed that he died four days ago.
