Movie theatres in state to open on October 25, up to 50 people allowed in marriage and death ceremonies

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has been decided to reopen the cinema theaters which are closed since the lockdown. The Covid review meeting decided to open theaters from the 25th of October. Theaters will be open as per Covid norms. Indications are that a full opening is not possible. The government will issue guidelines in consultation with film organizations. Cinema theaters are opening in the state after about six months.

The meeting also decided to open indoor auditoriums on October 25. Admission will be for those who have received two doses of the vaccine, including workers. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that only 50 per cent of the total seating capacity will be allotted. Classes will begin on October 18 at colleges with staff, teachers and students who took two doses of the vaccine.

Up to 50 people will be allowed at funerals and weddings. From November 1, the gram sabhas will be allowed to gather by maintaining physical distance and up to 50 people. Sero prevalence survey among children was completed. The guidelines for opening schools will also be released soon. The CM also said that arrangements for the distribution of homeopathic medicines to children are being finalized.
