THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A massive fire broke out at a shop in Attingal. The fire broke out at the shop selling utensils near the police station. The shop has been completely burnt. No casualties have been reported. The accident happened around 4 am today. Madurai Aluminum Stores and Sree Narayana Plastics and their godown were gutted in the blaze.

The godown contained plastic, aluminium utensils, paper and sanitizer. This led the fire to spread suddenly. The cause of the incident is believed to be a short circuit. The neighbours informed the fire force. The electric post near the shop was hit by a vehicle. Unconfirmed reports said this led to the short circuit.

The fire was doused by six units of the fire brigade after two and a half hours of hard work. A loss of lakhs has been reported. The shop is also reported to be uninsured.
