MALAPPURAM: Malappuram district police chief S Sujith Das said that the 15-year-old accused, who was arrested for assaulting a 21-year-old woman in Kondotty, has confessed to his crime. The police said that the accused was physically strong and a district Judo champion. The accused did not have any criminal background. He cannot be produced in court as he is a minor. After recording his arrest, he will be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board, the police said.

"The accused followed the woman from her home. He attacked her and dragged her to a nearby paddy field. He hit her with a stone when she defended herself. The woman escaped due to luck," the district police chief said.
