‘Switch on the video, I want to see everybody today’, Madhavi teacher said just before dying

KANHANGAD: A teacher collapsed and died soon after completing her online class. She has been identified as C Madhavi (47), a teacher of Adottukaya Govt Welfare L P School and native of Chulliyodi in Kallar. ‘I have cough children, have breathing problems also, rest in the next class…’ she said and within minutes she breathed her last.

She had earlier told her nephew that she is feeling uneasiness. When he came home, he saw her lying down. Though she was rushed to the hospital, her life could not be saved.

She was teaching maths for students of Class III and was her last online class. ‘Switch on the video, I want to see everybody.’ She said as soon as the classes started. The students said that she usually doesn’t say this. She talked to the children for some time. After some time, she started coughing. When the students asked her what happened, she said it may because of the cold weather. She gave homework and then ended her class saying that she has some breathing problems.

She was the daughter of late Adukkan and Mundu. Her husband T Babu predeceased her. Raman, Kalyani, Kannan, Ramakrishnan (late) and Madhavan (late) are her siblings.
