Twin brothers arrested for attacking police, hospital staff in Haripad

ALAPPUZHA: Twin brothers, who also happened to be army officials, brutally thrashed police officials and hospital employees in one skirmish that took place in Haripad. The attack was carried out by Ananthan and Jayanthan, natives of Haripad Chingoli. The incident took place at Haripad Taluk Hospital on Sunday night.

An accident occurred on Sunday when the car they were driving hit a divider at the Nangyarkulangara intersection. However, police reached the location on time and shifted the twin brothers to Taluk Hospital. It was confirmed that the brothers were in inebriated condition at the time. After reaching the hospital, the brothers unleashed tantrums and even destroyed the door of the hospital and later attacked the hospital staff and police.

Locals and the police forcefully took both of them to the station in a jeep. A case has been registered under various charges for beating the doctor, hospital staff and police and for destroying the hospital equipment.
