THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Amid a dispute over KAS salary, the government has now issued an order fixing the basic salary at Rs 81,800. It was earlier decided to pay grade pay, HRA and DA in addition to the basic salary. Of that, grade pay has been excluded. Instead of grade pay, an annual increment of Rs 2000 will be given on the completion of training.
The last cabinet meet fixed the basic salary of Kerala Administrative Service (KAS) to Rs 81,800. The IAS and IPS organisations were upset on the salary fixed for the newly formed KAS and submitted a memorandum to the chief minister in protest against it. However, the government has now issued the order fixing the salary of KAS as they had decided after rejecting the protests of civil service officers.
