Man gets 50 years prison term for sexually abusing eight-year-old girl for four years

IDUKKI: A man, who sexually abused an 8-year-old girl for 4 years, was sentenced to 50 years of imprisonment and a Rs 1.20 lakh fine. The court had found Thankamani native Sojan guilty of sexually abusing the girl.

As the survivor was below 12 years of age, 20 years of imprisonment was imposed on the convict. As the convict repeated crimes, the court ruled another 20 years in prison. He was sentenced to an extra 10 years imprisonment for brutally torturing the girl. The fine levied from the accused must be paid to the victim. The heinous crime came to light in 2017.
