25 more Omicron cases confirmed in state, tally crosses 300

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Veena George has said that Omicron has been confirmed in 25 more people in the state. Of the confirmed cases, 19 are from Malappuram district and 3 cases each from Alappuzha and Thrissur districts. 23 of them are from low-risk countries. Two people were infected with Omicron through contact. A 42-year-old woman from Malappuram district and a 10-year-old girl from Thrissur district contracted the disease through contact.

In Malappuram, 14 came from the UAE, 4 from Qatar, in Alappuzha, two are from the UAE, one from Saudi Arabia, and in Thrissur, one came from Qatar and one from the USA.

With this, Omicron has been confirmed for a total of 305 people in the state. 209 came from low risk countries and a total of 64 from high risk countries. A total of 32 people were infected through contact.
