NEW DELHI: It is the hobby of Shashi Tharoor MP to share new words that many are unfamiliar with. He usually shares lengthy words and is known for his extremely vast vocabulary. His new word is a dig at the BJP Government.
Tharoor on Sunday introduced a new word ‘anocracy’. A word we'd better start learning in India: ANOCRACY. Form of government that mixes democratic w/ autocratic features, permits elections, allows participation through opposition parties& institutions accommodating nominal amounts of competition, but acts w/minimal accountability. His tweet was soon after the election commission announced the polls of five states.
The Congress is trying to retain power in Punjab. In Uttar Pradesh, they are trying to put up a tough fight for the ruling BJP. In Manipur, it had emerged as the single-largest party in 2017. But later lost the state to the BJP after a series of resignations.
The party is also trying to establish a foothold in Goa and Uttarakhand.
