Murder of Shan: Mother comes down heavily on govt, burst into tears and blames police for not doing anything on complaint lodged

KOTTAYAM: Even after lodging a complaint late last night, the police was not able to save my son, said mother of Shan Babu, who was murdered early Monday morning. Thresiyamma, his mother said that she had mentioned the name of Joemon in the complaint given.

‘My son has done no wrong to anyone. When Joemon came he could not run as he had some injuries on his leg. What did the police do even after lodging the complaint late last night? The police had promised to bring back my son in the morning itself. Why is this government freeing people like this? He killed my son and then dumped the body in front of the police station. Will you return my son’, asked Thresiyamma.

Meantime, opposition leader V D Satheesan came forward criticizing the government harshly. The brutal murder in Kottayam is an insult to the state. The home department is not able to control the goons controlled by the CPM. No one is obeying the top police officials. The chief minister is responsible for the murder of Shan Babu, he said.
