Allegation levelled after actor withdrew from film, court raps Balachandra Kumar

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court rapped director Balachandra Kumar while considering the anticipatory bail pleas of many including Dileep in the case of conspiring to threaten the investigating officers in the actress attack case. The court observed that the conspiracy was hatched in 2017 and Kumar was with Dileep at that time. The court asked whether the allegations against Dileep were levelled after he withdrew from Kumar's film.

Dileep’s lawyer had earlier alleged that the interview of Kumar was a planned one. His interview was in a manner that someone taught him. There is a contradiction in Kumar's statement. The allegation, which has not been heard for the past four years, is now coming up. The new case is in retaliation for filing a complaint against Baiju Paulose. Dileep's lawyer argued that this was part of an attempt to divert public opinion against Dileep.
