NEW DELHI: Former Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was conferred with Netaji Award 2022 by Netaji Research Bureau. Consul General of Japan Nakamura Yutaka received the honour on behalf of Abe at a function at the Elgin Road residence of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on his 125th birth anniversary.
Shinzo Abe is a great admirer of Netaji, said Sugata Bose, Director of Netaji Research Bureau. Japanese ambassador to India Satoshi Suzuki addressed the programme virtually from New Delhi.
Meanwhile, as part of the Republic Day celebrations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the hologram statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at India Gate, New Delhi on Sunday at 6pm. Republic Day programmes will begin today along with Netaji’s birth anniversary celebrations.
