NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, despite ruling for the past seven years, has not been able to carry out any significant development work, but is busy blaming Jawaharlal Nehru for their problems, criticized former Prime Minister and Congress leader Dr Manmohan Singh. ‘‘You cannot escape your sins by blaming history or the country’’, he said in a video message shared by the Congress as part of the Punjab polls.
“People are remembering our good work. Under the BJP rule, the rich people are getting richer while the poor people are getting poorer. They tried to dishonour Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and the people of the state, over Modi's security issue”, he alleged.
“Relationships do not improve by giving hugs to politicians, or by going to eat biryani without invitation. Their nationalism is based on the British's divide and rule policy”, he criticized hinting Modi’s surprise visit to Pakistan in 2015, for the wedding of then Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s granddaughter.
