Court grants bail to four CPM activists in murder of Twenty20 activist

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court granted bail to four CPM activists in connection with the murder of Twenty20 activist Deepu in Kizhakkambalam. They were granted conditional bail.

The court has asked the four not to enter the Kunnathunadu station limits. The court granted them bail after considering the final report submitted in the case. Abdul Rahman, Aziz, Zainuddin and Basheer, arrested in the case are currently remanded in Muvattupuzha sub-jail.

The CPM activists thrashed Deepu during ‘lights off protest’ by Twenty20 activists in Kizhakkambalam on February 12. Deepu died on February 18 while undergoing treatment in hospital in critical condition. The cause of death was severe head injuries.
