THRISSUR: Actor and politician Suresh Gopi came under attack after visuals of him giving kaineetam surfaced. Now the BJP has come forward supporting the actor in the kaineetam controversy. The BJP will give kaineettam to all devotees visiting the Vadakkumnathan Temple in Thrissur today. The BJP's kaineettam strike is in protest of Cochin Devaswom Board's statement that melsanthis should not receive donation from people to distribute kaineetam.

The BJP activists reached the temple today with thousand notes of one rupee. They said will give vishu kaineetam to all devotees visiting the temple today. The BJP alleged that this was an issue between believers and non-believers.
