PM announces new dimension of development in Jammu; Modi govt dedicates projects worth Rs 20,000 crore to country

SRINAGAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Kashmir for the first time after the abrogation of Article 370. He said Kashmir was a new model for democracy and development in the country. Addressing the gram sabhas of the country, the Prime Minister inaugurated development projects worth Rs 20,000 crore. Pali village in Kashmir has been selected as the first carbon free solar panchayat in the country. The Prime Minister also inaugurated a 500 KW solar plant here.

The Prime Minister said the face of Kashmir will change in the next 25 years. He inaugurated the Amrit Sarovar project and Rs 3,100 crore Banihal Qazigund Road Tunnel and laid the foundation stone for the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway. The project is worth Rs 7,500 crore. The 540 MW Kwar Hydroelectric Project will be set up on the Chenab River of over Rs 4500 crore. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Swamitva cards.
