Thief who stole 53 sovereigns of gold of former Minister Shibu Baby John's mother arrested

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Tamil Nadu native has been arrested for stealing 53 sovereigns of old from former minister Shibu Baby John's house. Kanyakumari native, 48-year old Ramesh has been arrested. The jewellery employees handed him over to the police as they felt suspicious while he approached to sell the gold.

The gold was stolen from the house in Kadappakada. After checking and confirming that no one was in the house, Ramesh broke into the house as the front door was opened. The theft was reported on Sunday morning. Meanwhile, Ramesh had escaped on a train. The accused was identified after the police handed over the CCTV footage to the Tamil Nadu police.
