Vijay Babu’s anticipatory bail plea postponed to Tuesday; ban on arrest to continue

KOCHI: Actor and producer Vijay Babu’s anticipatory bail plea hearing in the actress abuse case has been postponed to Tuesday. The ban on arrest will continue. The anticipatory bail plea hearing was postponed after the prosecution informed the court that the actor had appeared before the investigation team and has to be questioned further.

The court has directed Vijay Babu not to attempt to see or influence the complainant. Meantime, the actor’s interrogation on the second day is underway. The interrogation is conducted at the Ernakulam South police station.

The actor was questioned for 10 hours last day. The interrogation was led by assistant commissioner Y Nizamudeen. Vijay Babu told the police that he had consensual sex with the actress and the reason behind the case was resentment over not being given a chance in the film.
