Daughter beats mother after tying her to a rod in Kollam, attacks panchayat member when questioned act

KOLLAM: A woman beat her mother after tying her in Pathanapuram. Panchayat member Arsha Mol, who questioned the act was also beaten. Leena tied her mother Leelamma of Nedumparambu to a rod and beat her.

The incident happened on Sunday at 3 pm. Leena tied her aged mother to a rod in the courtyard of their house and then beat her brutally. The panchayat member and other neighbours came rushing hearing her cries. The panchayat member who questioned the act was beaten with a stick and then Leena caught hold of her hair. She later hurled abuses at the crowd. The locals said she had committed the same act earlier also. The Pathanapuram police have registered a case. The member who sustained injuries is undergoing treatment.
